In August 2019, I had the opportunity to visit Greece for my honeymoon and finally check a much awaited point off my bucket list.
A platter of deconstructed chicken gyros, to relive the amazing food we had during our one week holiday in Greece.
I was so immensely touched at the lovely hospitality and warmth of the people we met during our entire #vacation both in Santorini and in Paros. I was especially touched by a few Greek restaurant owners who greeted us with big smiles, saying "Namaste" and folded palms symbolising the Indian welcome greeting.

The winning dish of our trip.
Greece was extremely special for me because of so many reasons- yes, it was my #honeymoon but I was so immensely touched at the lovely hospitality and warmth of the people we met during our entire #vacation both in Santorini and in Paros. I was especially touched by a few Greek restaurant owners who greeted us with bug smiles, saying "Namaste" and folded palms symbolising the Indian welcome greeting. My husband and I had the chance to visit some lovely quaint restaurants covered with the most stunning bougainvillea on all days, but after we tasted our first chicken #gyros on the trip (literally the moment we deboarded the ship at Santorini), we knew we had a winner!
After we returned to Singapore, I wanted to experiment making our favorite dish of the trip for us. The simplicity and speed of cooking this dish is a #winner and the best part is that you can customize it with meat & sides of your choice.
This dish took me all of 40 minutes to cook (including prep time) and after a long day at work, dedicating such a short time to have a super tasty dish is absolutely worth it!
I have since then, made chicken/lamb gyros and served it with fresh #tzatziki dip, cabbage, cucumbers, tomatoes and my all-time favorite french fries. The heat of the meat and crispy fries, coupled with the cold #tzatziki dip and vegetables go brilliantly together. You can choose to have it as a wrap or just as it is- both taste great and would prove to be a wholesome meal :)
