BHINDI MASALA

Ingredients for bhindi masala:

1 packet (500gms) of bhindi chopped and washed

1 cup tomato puree

6/7 curry leaves

1 tsp cumin seeds

1 onions chopped into very fine pieces (I used minced onion)

1 tbsp ginger paste

1/2 tsp chili powder

1 tsp garam masala powder

1 tsp coriander powder

1/2 tsp turmeric powder

1 tsp amchur powder

Salt to taste


Recipe for bhindi masala:

Step 1: Heat oil in a pan and fry the bhindi lightly till the stickiness goes away. Keep this aside in a bowl.

Step 2: Heat some oil again in the same pan and add the curry leaves with cumin seeds and let them fry a bit, then add the minced onions and ginger paste.

Step 3: Add in the tomato puree, coriander powder, garam masala powder, turmeric powder, chili powder, salt to taste and amchur powder. Fry this till the oil begins to separate from the mixture.

Step 4: Add the bhindi back to the mixture and stir well. Sprinkle some water to this and cook a little to ensure all the masala is well mixed.


Plate up!! Serve the bhindi masala hot with rotis or rice. We enjoy it with rotis.
