All of you from Kolkata would know that any trip to the city is incomplete without our very own infamous chelo kebabs.
Being a foodie, what better place to grow up in than the good ol' city of joy? Many of my posts in this section will revolve around some of the dishes that I've had while growing up and are etched in my memory for so many reasons!
The Twist.
The infamous chicken #chelo looks complicated to make and you must be wondering why I would attempt to encourage you to cook this on a working day, but believe it or not- I managed to complete this entire dish in 1.5 hours (including marination time)!
The twist I brought to this dish has a personal reason- my husband's love for Persian food. Thus, instead of serving the normal seekh kebabs, I replaced them with #koobideh kebabs (which are equally simple provided you have the necessary ingredients). Of course, what's missing from my plating is the mandatory fried egg on top of the buttered rice (but we prefer to eat it without egg).
I hate being away from home, but the few dishes that I can cook remind me of my childhood and that inspires me to cook more, so all of you who have husbands/ wives who have never had the opportunity to have a good plate of chelo kebabs, write in to me for my special recipe :)
